June Calloway

Freelance Writer

Writer. Mother of one. Manifested her way out of burnout.

June spent twelve years in agency advertising before her body told her to stop. She left, took six months, and rebuilt — slowly. She writes about what manifestation actually looks like when you have a small child, a tight calendar, and very little patience for vague advice. She works with the AYA Method daily and has the streak to prove it. Advertising taught her every trick of the aspirational sentence, which is exactly why she distrusts them: she spent a decade writing copy that promised a feeling, and she knows the difference between a promise and a practice. Her essays are built from the second thing. She writes with the receipts out — the actual morning schedule, the actual interruptions, the week the practice shrank to ninety seconds in a parked car and still counted. Readers write to her because she never pretends the conditions are ideal; the practice that interests her is the one that survives a toddler with a fever and a deadline moved up. Her recurring subjects: rebuilding a working life after burnout without rebuilding the same trap, the difference between ambition and appetite, and the strange relief of hearing your own future voice describe a calmer year than the one you are in. The streak is real, currently long, and occasionally broken — which, she says, is what makes it worth keeping.

Writes about: manifestation, career transitions, motherhood.
